Type Locality and Naming
The type section is at Wanyaoshu in Luxi County, Yunnan. The Mangjiu Fm was named by Yunnan Team of Regional Geological Survey and Sheng Xinfu in 1963, and was published by Yunnan Compiling Workshop for Regional Stratigraphic Scale (1980).
Synonym: (芒究组)
Lithology and Thickness
The Mangjiu Fm is composed of gray medium-bedded sandy limestone intercalated with minor shale. In the type area, the Mangjiu Fm is 4.5 m thick.
